A. Tooth Preparation
1. Remove provisional restoration and thoroughly clean the preparation. Eugenol may affect curing of some composite materials. If eugenol-containing temporary cement was used, clean the preparation with pumice to remove all traces of the cement.
2. Etch using an etchant, such as UNI-ETCH®* w/BAC or ETCH-37™* w/BAC, according to the manufacturer's instructions. If using a self-etch adhesive such as
ALL-BOND SE, skip this step and proceed to step 3.
3. Apply an adhesive such as ALL-BOND 2, ALL-BOND 3, ONE-STEP/ONE-STEP PLUS, or ALL-BOND SE, according to manufacturer's instructions.
B. Restoration Preparation
All-Ceramic/Porcelain Restorations:
IMPORTANT: Since different ceramics require different surface treatments, contact laboratory for proper internal surface treatment instructions (i.e. etching).
1. If the restoration requires silane, apply 1–2 thin coats of silane such as BIS-SILANE™* to the internal surface, prior to try-in of the restoration. Wait for 30 seconds. Dry with air syringe.
2. Apply a thin coat of a HEMA-Free resin such as PORCELAIN BONDING RESIN*. Air thin. DO NOT LIGHT-CURE. OR
Apply adhesive according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Composite Restorations:
1. Prepare the internal surface of the restoration according to laboratory instructions.
2. Apply one coat of adhesive according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Metal Restorations (including Porcelain fused to Metal):
1. Prepare the internal surface of the restoration according to laboratory instructions.
2. Apply one coat of a metal primer such as ALL-BOND 2 Primers A & B, ALL-BOND 3 Parts A & B, or ONE-STEP/ONE-STEP PLUS according to manufacturer’s instructions.
C. Cementation
1. If using the dual-syringe delivery system, follow the enclosed DUAL-SYRINGE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE for dispensation and delivery of DUO-LINK. If using individual syringes, mix equal amounts of DUO-LINK base and catalyst into a uniform paste (10-15 seconds) until the paste is a uniform color. Fill the internal surface of the restoration with DUO-LINK using an instrument.
2. Seat the restoration with gentle, passive pressure.
3. Remove excess cement immediately with a brush or instrument.
4. Light cure each surface of the restoration for 40 seconds.
POST CEMENTATION
A. Post Space Preparation:
1. Etch using an etchant, such as UNI-ETCH w/BAC or ETCH-37 w/BAC, or according to manufacturer's instructions, and rinse with water.
2. Blot the canal dry with a large paper point to remove excess moisture.
3. Apply an adhesive, such as ALL-BOND 2, ALL-BOND 3 or ONE-STEP/ONE-STEP PLUS, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
4. Blot the canal dry with a paper point; repeat with a new paper point until the paper point returns dry from the canal. This step is important for removal of any pooled primers so that there is no interference in complete seating of the post.
5. Light cure adhesive, as necessary, according to manufacturer's instructions.
B. Post Cementation:
1.Coat a light-transmitting post such as D.T. LIGHT-POST®* with an adhesive, according to manufacturer's instructions. Or, prepare the surface of the post according to post manufacturer's instructions.
2.If using the dual-syringe delivery system, follow the enclosed DUAL-SYRINGE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE for dispensation and delivery of DUO-LINK. If using individual syringes, mix equal amounts of DUO-LINK base and catalyst into a uniform paste (10-15 seconds) until the paste is a uniform color.
3. Fill a UNIT-DOSE NEEDLE-TIP* with DUO-LINK and inject it in the canal. Start at the apical end of the canal and withdraw the tip towards the pulp chamber. Or, use the dual-syringe root canal mixing tip.
4. Seat the post into the canal gently and maintain firm pressure for 5-10 seconds once the post is seated.
5. Remove excess cement and light cure for 40 seconds by placing the light tip on the post, or allow to self cure if post is not light transmitting.
6. Proceed with restorative treatment.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature (20°C/68°F-25°C/77°F). See individual
component labels for specific expiration dates.
PRECAUTIONS: Uncured resins may cause skin sensitization in susceptible
persons. In case of contact, wash skin with soap and
water.
