MOCK-UP KIT Instructions

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Mock-Up Kit offers a convenient way to create a template of the anterior teeth and consists of composite, an impression tray, impression material and mixing tips. The Mock-Up composite in this kit may be used to quickly build up the desired shape of the final restoration. Think of it as a diagnostic build-up performed intraorally. The impression tray, impression material and mixing tips are used to capture the contours created with the composite. The impression material also doubles as a matrix, allowing you to build-up the lingual surfaces and incisal edges of the anterior teeth effortlessly.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Intraoral diagnostic build-up: without etching or bonding the tooth structure, build up the tooth/teeth using the Mock-Up Composite. Light-cure and polish. Check and adjust the occlusion.

2. Fill the impression tray with the Mock-Up VPS material and make the impression. Care should be taken to capture the lingual aspect of the desired teeth.

NOTE: Before use, inspect impression tray to confirm that it is void of any debris. Trays may be washed in soap and warm water.

3. Remove the impression material from the tray. Using a surgical blade, cut the impression into two halves, length wise, following the facial-incisal line-angle.

4. Remove the Mock-Up Composite from the tooth/teeth.

5. Etch the tooth with phosphoric acid, such as UNI-ETCH®*, for 15 seconds. Rinse and dry.

6. Apply 2 coats of adhesive, such as ONE-STEP®* PLUS. Gently air dry to evaporate solvent. Surface should be shiny. If not shiny, repeat this step. Light-cure for 10 seconds per surface.

7. Position the lingual portion of the impression on the teeth. Using it as a customized template, place composite, such as ÆLITE*, to restore the lingual aspects of the tooth.

8. Once the lingual aspect of the restoration has been built up, the customized template can be removed.

9. Continue restoration of the tooth/teeth with composites, such as ÆLITE.
