GENERAL INFORMATION

TESCERA OPAQUER POWDER is a specially formulated opaquing agent intended for masking the metal (non-precious, semi-precious and precious) framework of dental prostheses and is optimized when used with the TESCERA ATL^TM* system. TESCERA OPAQUER POWDER is a dual-curable opaquing agent, allowing it to be light-cured and/or heat-cured. To meet a restoration's aesthetic needs, it is available in three shades (Yellow Opaque, Light Opaque, and Universal Opaque).

1. Sandblast the metal framework for 1-2 seconds using a sandblaster, or abrade the surface with a coarse diamond bur. Rinse with water and air-dry.

2. Apply 1 generous coat of ONE-STEP^®* or ONE-STEP PLUS to the metal. Using a gentle flow of air, evaporate the solvent. Using a halogen curing unit, such as VIP^TM* junior, light-cure the ONE-STEP or ONE-STEP PLUS for 10 seconds per surface at 500mW/cm².

3. Mix 2 scoops of the TESCERA OPAQUER POWDER into 8 drops of the TESCERA OPAQUER/SCULPTING RESIN (1:1 mass ratio).
NOTE: Although a 1:1 mass ratio is suggested, the lab technician can also make a more viscous consistency if desired.

4. Apply a thin coat of the TESCERA OPAQUER POWDER/SCULPTING RESIN mixture to the metal surface.

5. Following curing instructions as stated in the TESCERA ATL Procedural Overview manual, process the opaqued framework in the ATL's light cup for one cycle. You may extend the light cup cure cycle to 3 minutes (3L) or 5 minutes (5L) for polymerization of the opaqued metal surface. Refer to the Procedural Overview manual for light cycle extension instructions.
NOTE: Although the ATL's light cup will produce the best results, a hand-held curing light may also be used. In this situation, light cure a section of the framework for 40 seconds @ 500 mW/cm² before moving to another section of the framework.

6. Following the light cycle, process the framework in the ATL's heat cup for one cycle.

7. Once the framework cools, proceed with composite layering and finishing.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature (22°C/72°F). Refer to individual component labels for specific expiration dates.

PRECAUTIONS: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Unpolymerized resins may cause skin sensitization in susceptible persons. In case of contact with the skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
