Should You Switch Adhesives – Even if You’re Satisfied?

The title of this brief article is one of the most common questions I am asked. Up until recently, my response was to ask the clinician if they were happy with the results they were obtaining. If they were, I’d recommend staying with their current adhesive, which may have been providing “acceptable” results. Often, I may have replied in jest, “if it ain’t broke, why fix it?” In retrospect, I now recognize how little I truly understood the importance of how a quality adhesive with superior charac

Does Dentistry Now Have the Ideal Core Material?

Self-cure core pastes and light-cured hybrid composites lack the combination of flow, strength and void-free adhesive interfaces required in esthetic restorative dentistry. The current economics of dental practice and time constraints by our patients are causing dentists to demand that core materials offer the versatility of post cementation, traditional core rehabilitation as well as low shrink dentin replacement. BISCO’s CORE-FLO DC formula was inspired by dentists.

BISCO: Creating Solutions to Clinical Challenges! Bonding to Zirconia, Alumina and Metal with Z-PRIME™ Plus

Zirconia-based restorations and reinforced glass ceramics are the fastest growing segment in the North American laboratory market. Zirconia’s high strength and fracture toughness are two of its unique advantages compared to current glass filled ceramic systems. Zirconia has a flexural strength (900-1100 MPa) that is 5x greater than current ceramics; 2x as strong as alumina, and 3x as strong as e.max lithium disilicates.

Tips For Best Clinical Success – BisCover™ LV

LESS IS MORE: The best results are achieved when you start with the right amount of material on the brush. Avoid using excess material as shown in Figure 1. It is easier and more effective to apply an extra layer if necessary than to remove excess. In addition, by applying the correct amount, the yellow color of the material will disappear during the curing process.

BISCOVER_LV

BisCover™ LV – Low Viscosity, Maximum Versatility

Before the advent of Bisco’s breakthrough BisCover™ Liquid Polish technology in 2003, the category of resin glazing products had very limited capabilities. They were indicated for extraoral use only, for provisional restorations. Most contained methyl methacrylate and had a strong unpleasant odor. They could only be cured with a halogen light and most cured with an oxygen inhibition layer that needed to be removed.
