Sandwich Technique - TheraBase
The posterior composite restorative procedure (Sandwich Technique) combines a liner and/or base with composite to manage deep restorations, improving seal and reducing sensitivity in load-bearing areas.
BISCO Recommends
TheraBase® and All-Bond Universal® can be used to perform sandwich technique restorations. TheraBase provides a dual-cure, self-adhesive base with for dentin bonding and pulpal protection, while All-Bond Universal promotes adhesion to enamel and dentin. This combination supports sealing and placement of the Quantium® composite restoration.

STEP 1
Prepare Cavity
Prepare cavity clean the preparation with pumice and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
STEP 2
Apply TheraBase
Apply TheraBase clean the preparation with pumice and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
STEP 3
Light cure
Light cure for 20 seconds or allow to self cure.
STEP 4
Proceed
Proceed for 20 seconds or allow to self cure.With bonding procedure, such as All-Bond Universal following manufacturers instructions.
STEP 5
Restore
Restore with composite following manufacturer's instructions.
