Glass-ionomer systems have been the chief materials for dentin replacement, while resin-based composites continued to be the main enamel replacements.

Together they replicate natural teeth. Ever since the introduction of TheraCal LC, there has been a renaissance in easier, faster and better dental repair. And that renaissance has continued with TheraBase.

In deep restorations and when pulp exposure occurs, BISCO recommends the use of TheraCal LC for direct and indirect pulp capping and as a liner. TheraBase can be used together with TheraCal LC in the sandwich technique for calcium and fluoride release benefits and pulp protection.

Here are some features to consider when choosing your base material:

  • Calcium release generates an alkaline pH* which promotes pulp vitality1
  • Dual-cured material that will polymerize even in deep restorations where light cannot reach
  • Stronger and more durable than other base materials, glass ionomers, and resin-modified glass ionomers*

TheraBase is an ideal base material for both indirect restorations and direct composite restorations. TheraBase’s high flexural strength makes it stronger and more fracture resistant than other base materials*, and its high compressive strength allows it to undergo greater shock and stress from occlusal forces without fracturing. Using durable materials will provide a steady foundation for your restorative material and treatments.
