What is the recommended bonding agent to use with Core-Flo DC and Core-Flo DC Lite?
With any of BISCO’s core build-up materials, we recommend BISCO’s dual-cure Universal Primer. Universal Primer does not need to be light-cured for post cementation or under crowns, onlys, inlays, etc. It can also be used in direct restorative procedures, such as core build-ups and composites.
What is the difference between Core-Flo DC and Core-Flo DC Lite?
The primary differences between Core-Flo DC and Core-Flo DC Lite are viscosity and delivery. Core-Flo DC is a higher-viscosity, stackable material that resists slumping, making it well suited for clinicians who prefer to build and shape material directly. Because of its higher viscosity, Core-Flo DC requires a dispenser for delivery. Core-Flo DC Lite is a lower-viscosity, self-leveling material that flows readily into gaps and margins for excellent adaptation and is dispensed directly from an auto-mix dual-syringe no dispenser required. Clinical technique and indications are the same for both products; the choice comes down to handling preference and case requirements.
Do you need to place an adhesive before placing Core-Flo DC or Core-Flo DC Lite?
Yes. An adhesive/bonding agent must be applied first to ensure a reliable bond to tooth structure. If adequate light access is available, any BISCO bonding agent may be used. In cases with limited or no light access such as within a post space BISCO recommends its dual-cured Universal Primer, which bonds effectively without requiring light curing. Always follow the Instructions for Use (IFU) for whichever primer is selected.
How many tips come with Core-Flo DC / Core-Flo DC Lite?
Each syringe package for Core Flo DC and Core flo DC lite includes 15 endo tips.
Can I use Core-Flo DC or Core-Flo DC Lite to cement posts?
Yes. Both products are indicated for post cementation as well as core build-up and dentin replacement. After applying primer, coat the apical end of the post with Core-Flo DC or Core-Flo DC Lite, seat the post into the canal, and maintain firm, gentle pressure for 20–30 seconds.
Do you need a dispenser to use Core-Flo DC or Core-Flo DC Lite?
Core-Flo DC requires a dispenser because of its higher viscosity. Core-Flo DC Lite does not require a dispenser, its lower viscosity allows it to be dispensed directly from its auto-mix dual-syringe.
Can I use a dispenser with Core-Flo DC Lite?
If you desire, you can use a dispenser with Core-Flo DC Lite although it is not required. The material comes in an auto-mix dual-syringe system, so it's designed to be dispensed on its own without the need of a dispenser.
Do I need to bleed (prime) the material before using it for the first time?
Yes. Before attaching a mixing tip, dispense a small amount of material directly onto a mixing pad. This step eliminates voids and confirms that both components are flowing evenly from the dual syringe before use in the mouth.
