BrochureHow do I use ZirClean?
ZirClean is an extraoral cleaner that is used outside of the mouth. ZirClean is applied directly to the intaglio (interior) surface of a Zirconia restoration. ZirClean removes any contaminants on the surface of the restoration that occur during intraoral try-in.
Can I use ZirClean to clean the intaglio (interior) surface of non-Zirconia restorations?
ZirClean is indicated to be used to clean the surface of only restorations made from Zirconia. It is clinically proven that purified water has the ability to effectively clean the interior surface of all other substrates.
Do I need to decontaminate my Zirconia crown after try-in?
Yes, if you hope to achieve optimal and reliable cementation results. Removing contaminants from the restoration will help to achieve better bond strengths.
If the crown has been sandblasted, then after try-in, clean the internal surface of the Zirconia surface with ZirClean™ and then proceed with applying a primer to the bonded surface of the restoration with a suitable primer (Z-PRIME™ Plus) according to manufacturer’s instructions.
If the surface wasn’t sandblasted, then sandblast the intaglio surface of the Zirconia, and proceed with applying Z-PRIME Plus.
Do I apply ZirClean to the restoration or the tooth?
ZirClean is applied to the restoration outside the mouth as it is indicated as an extraoral cleaner of pre-treated ceramic, zirconia and metal restoration surfaces which have been contaminated during intraoral try-in.
What is it about ZirClean that removes contaminants from the bonding surfaces of a restoration?
ZirClean's high pH allows for the cleaning effect to take place, removing phosphate contaminants deposited from saliva onto the restoration during try-in. A properly cleaned bonding surface improves the bond strength between the cement and the restoration.
